Variations of the Moral Compass

Really, there are no rights or wrongs,
just a perspective that we believe
due to the parameters of our moral compass,
and for those without one,
heinous crimes become just a means to an end;
and we may deliberate, argue the loss of life,
the suffering: but who’s to say
that’s not what a soul required,
in the ending of a life that transforms
and lives again in many incarnations.
We are who we are, innately,
and then have choices to either
support or deny predilections,
and amid that the consequences of our choices
set out in circumstance,
some positive, some negative and even some that end a life,
complete a cycle before yet another life evolves,
so in a real sense it is purposeless
to blame, to judge anything,
not knowing the purpose amid many lives.
It may seem to run against the grain,
to understand that rapists and murderers
are still souls on a journey as we are,
and judging them based on our morality and beliefs
without purpose;
all we can do is accept who they are
and what they have become
through nature and nurture,
and the circumstances they create, there’s to face,
and within society, to be punished by law for the common good.
So although it seems difficult
to accept these crimes and those who commit them,
we have no reason to sit in judgement,
as we also could well have been such a soul or will be
in the incarnations of life,
all of us on a path of learning,
all of us the creators of the circumstances we forge
due to the learning required for our soul,
at whatever level of development;
we must allow people to be who they are,
in understanding, regardless of our morality.

Each soul has a path to follow, a life in which to learn – it is not our place to judge another. Each incarnation for a soul has a purpose and, I believe, will follow the intended path. Very nicely penned piece, Tony, with lots to ponder. Well done.
Much appreciated Phyllis
Much appreciated Phyllis, glad you related and enjoyed my thoughts. Take care
I think those paths are all up for interpretation and adjustment. The path of the murderer can be tempted by certain outside factors. But you are right who are we to pass judgment without knowing every variable in the matter. Can we tempt the strings of fate?? Excellent work Tony.
Much appreciated Paul, glad you connected my friend. Cheers!
