The Winning We So Want

Implements of mind render
doubt an unkind spectacle,
a manacle of impediment,
to failure’s deep sediment,
at the bottom of a running stream,
and in lieu of said profundity,
a decision of gratuity
to know that confidence in thinking
is a fight won within bounds.

It’s not knowledge or power,
its not muscle or endowment,
but the thinking of our strength
that carries weight,
and doubts are just arrows to the heart,
a compromising start to any venture,
when unwavering confidence carries us to fruition,
as undying traditions find our state,
as we weigh ourselves in fate’s opened hands.

So easily we fall to ourselves,
our doubts compel us to find weakness,
our revelations of meekness
an unnecessary ploy,
for whatever we assume
in this self-confiding ruse,
it does nothing but disarm us
in the middle of our move,
just a failure as darkness predicts.

Implements of the mind
do takes us on journeys, both harmful and sound,
and it is we who must agree or disagree,
to find an amenable ground on which to stand,
in elation of victory or deflation of loss,
we must first add our thinking to the lot,
for it regardless of anything else,
is the key to our deliverance,
our will in finding ground.

Simplicity abounds in minds of clarity,
without the embarrassing failures out of hand,
when we succumb to our inner echoes
of past mistakes and pain,
given flight by foolish doubts
that cloud our mind,
when we step into risk and gather change,
to better a life in exchange for lessons of growth,
the winning we so want.
