The Music of Brazil

The Music of Brazil
The Music of Brazil

Afferent moves captured by a melodious groove,
imparted by music’s silken allure
and eyes-closed pleasure seen in notes
and colored phrases so pure, every cell is attuned.

The sway of rhythmic drums take hold,
Brazilian hips let loose and hands so graceful flow,
and lost all souls to music’s meandering,
a silent chanting of ancient roots imbued.

Sounds reverberate in gentle ease,
cleansed of all our mundane deeds,
and held in warm embrace
to trace each phrase of beauty’s landscape.

As voices clear and cordial rise so eloquently,
atop guitars in harmonious support,
the rhythm tied to every note softly pulls the heart strings,
into a semi-conscious bliss retort.

As guitars soar into unknown skies,
like playful birds in flight, twisting and turning rides,
so joyous in the freedom of gravity’s escape,
there is nothing more than being.

From thunderous rapids to gentle river flows,
the music rises and falls, rhythms at beckoned call,
and guitars hum in syncopated slight of hand,
demanding, in runs so fast, trills so sweet because they can.

Improvisation rampant
as melodies subside and rhythms so bold,
push the masters to impossible hold,
and climactic dance in colors wild a blur.

Shouting, joyous notes of ecstasy,
as dancers glide in repetitive, synchronized float,
and guitars play impossible lines, driven to perfection’s time,
so hard against the stone they lean.

And as the last abrupt note is rendered,
the tensions so splendidly released,
smiles curtail the pitch and joy flows out of every one,
a master stroke of melody and bliss.

I can almost hear the music and feel the rhythm. Very nicely expressed, Tony. You can play some Brazilian music for me, yes? Some jazz? I love the poem – well done. Take care.

It is a very intriguing, high energy music. The rhythmic sections are fast paced to say the least. I really enjoy this kind of music, there is so much going on. Nice work my friend.

Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it. I enjoy rhythmic music as well and also the jazz style in South America. Cheers!
