That Innate Seed Within

Humble I walk the earth,
just an insignificant cell of one huge organism,
the earth my mother, all life
my brothers and sisters,
and together we are miraculous,
what we can do and be
far from our microscopic beginnings.

We are apex within our arrogance,
because we can, no reason to do so,
yet we enforce penalties in our sentience,
build walls of omniscience,
shadowed by the reality of lies,
of judgement we impart,
to all other forms of life.

Ego a human necessity
yet the undoing of a rational mind innate,
strewn to fields of denial,
for the sake of self interest,
and a fate we claim our right,
so we wield our power, our reign
and claim a benevolent mind.

Technology is our sickness,
closer to omnipotence,
and so arrogant we,
to sacrifice life for our needs,
and decimate the hand that feeds us,
the earth the nurtured us to grow,
now suffering at our hands.

We fight to establish power
and propagate greed,
and become leaders of those who disagree
but are powerless,
and the world becomes captive
to the distractions of manipulation,
designed for us to have no say.

I walk this earth humbled by beauty,
yet faced with ugliness,
the human mark of tainting reality
to strip bare resources, to disrespect the order,
and in doing so attract the wrath of imbalance
that will soon undo all our achievements,
if we do not stop and find that innate seed within us, love.
