Little Mountain Holds Secrets of My Soul

Little Mountain Holds Secrets …

little mountain
Little Mountain holds secrets of my soul.

The little mountain holds secrets of my soul,
it knows the sincere love expressed, so true,
comes from my heart and the mountain listens
through all seasons, understanding,
why the thoughts I have cannot be open to any but you,
so there it is safe to express in silence.

Words like flowers in the spring,
grow tenderly and true,
covering the mountain with love,
pure, their beauty portrays, with fragrant joy,
love for you in my heart, you will always be there,
whatever path in life you decide to follow.

Summer blooms burst forth relentlessly and brilliant,
to send love to you in spirit only,
tis safe within my heart and there will stay forever more,
boldly the flowers express, silent I remain,
tis not for me to force the seasons on, time will,
I so enjoy, each season in their own time.

Autumn holds softer warmth following
the heat of summer’s boldness so refined,
I ask not for what may come,
all is as it should be and will be alright,
each leaf falling like a word in flight,
warm colors filling my heart for love’s sake.

Winter snows cover and protect,
my secrets so like flower seeds,
far beneath the cold white snow soft they lay in cozy rest,
till the snow melts and spring bestows upon them the sun’s warmth,
for yet another season of life,
with truth in heart and soul.

Then, if questions you have ask them true
for I will be honest with you,
and not run away or avoid,
but embrace that which has been on your mind,
to accept what is in your heart and soul,
my love is not conditional but sincere.

There, on the mountain, so like my soul,
love for you will remain in my heart’s keep,
forever glowing with warmth and comfort
where you can always abide safe without fears,
know your heart and be the captain of your ship and I,
I will never forsake thee.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.
