Lies Wrapped in Fool’s Gold
Narrow views and ignited cues
see contentions rise,
when challenged our beliefs
synchronized with truth,
so debate we may our forthright visions,
with spite for all it contradicts,
yet whose right is right,
the clashing of understandings
sought and found,
but never can they be profound,
when perspective changes like the wind,
in flux and yielding to the sting of falsehood,
when we stand firm
in a closed mind line.
Learning comes from understanding,
not some contentious rivalry,
and reality so often tucked away in our wishes
we cannot see the light of day,
and one soul’s truth is but one perspective,
a ruse for reality’s play,
yet we stand sure of convictions,
when surely we are all mice in a maze
seeking home,
alone and fed spattered truths,
piecemeal reality on a plate,
and for those whose motives sail the course,
we are just pawns,
half blinkered to the rorts.
The world is filled with inequity,
pain and suffering the human path,
and there are those who see it and find sorrow,
those who control it without remorse,
and further, those who have learned to be complacent
living the lies we’re told,
as long as the dreams of chasing wealth abides,
then guilt subsides and ignorant bliss
provides a path that can be endured,
all this a harsh reality
of being pitted against one another,
be it race, religion, belief, socio-economic status,
all contention designed as distraction,
for those who profit from our interaction.
We must all wake up
to find commonality, not believe what we’re told,
for much of it is just a purposeful rhetoric,
lies wrapped in fools gold.

Tony , There is enough anger, evil , hatred , delusion and denial everywhere , what there isn’t enough of is writing like this , like yours , great work as I found great visions inside the words , all we can ever hope for . I swear sometimes we should stay away from negative magnetism of news media and just write , some of us have seen enough , no?
