How We Want to Be, in Life

The effervescence of life springs most
in those who are attune to it,
those who see not its supposed limits,
rather its endless potential and possibility,
not perceived from the mundane.
Blind are those buried in physicality,
the routine and weighted existence
of physical manifestation alone,
when freedom comes from mind,
knowledge comes from soul
and truth is founded within both.
How we attest to life, respond to it,
directs how we will experience it,
a chosen acceptance of possibilities and future,
brought about by our attitudes,
how we see this opportunity of life.
Investing in one aspect of life
more than others,
creates imbalance and a restricted perspective,
one coloring the rest,
clouding the truth from bias and inattention,
thus creating problems of vision and understanding.
Accepting happiness as a way of thinking
and the acceptance of a positive demeanor,
gives clarity to life, a broader perspective,
as problems become simple challenges,
and joy is woven into every moment.
Being attuned to life’s undulations,
its highs and its lows, gives balance,
and an understanding that struggle
is necessary for learning,
pain is just another experience
on this earthly plain of growth.
It is how we see life that determines
how we experience: with fear as our master,
pain is excruciating, with positive thought,
pain is just another feeling,
another lesson within life’s purpose.
Choice is always ours to determine our lives,
whether we choose to be positive or negative,
and thus the consequences of those choices,
it is always ours to decide
how we respond and face problems,
how we love and treat people
and appreciated the opportunity of life.

Wonderful poetry celebrating life. Enjoyed.
Glad you appreciated it Rasma. Have a great day!
“pain is just another feeling,
another lesson within life’s purpose.”
That is so true, Tony. We have choices and being positive makes life more enjoyable. Great work.
Thanks Phyllis, pleased you enjoyed my thoughts. Take care.
