Having to Face Reality
Face Reality …
Reality can strike,
sometimes much too close.
You can be feeling,
as if you’re living in a dream,
then suddenly without warning –
reality comes calling.
It’s nice to spend days,
that are relaxing and filled with joy.
They let us get free,
of all the worry and stress,
but even on the most ideal of days,
something can come back to remind us,
that everything is much too real
and reality comes crashing into our world again.
It’s easy to pretend and to fantasize,
that takes no effort at all,
but when you have to face,
all that is expected of you,
that is when reality comes calling
and that can take the most effort of all.
It would be wonderful,
if there were days,
when we could put reality –
upon a closet shelf.
Then live our day,
free as a=the birds,
full of fun and enjoyment
and let reality back –
only the day after that.
Reality isn’t an easy thing to face,
it takes a lot of trying,
to live day to day.
I sometimes wonder my friend,
would it be any different if I were you and you were me,
would we understand each other better
and would your reality be the same as mine?
Life is a journey we all have to take,
to get to the promised golden gates.
Perhaps if we shared a bit of each other’s lives,
reality would be easier to take,
sharing the love and the problems.
Life isn’t always fun and games,
but we must accept the fact,
that reality is very much –
a part of the life we lead.

Sharing does help, but ultimately our perspective is unique, our problems singularly relative to us and all we can do is share and comfort one-another to give us the strength to endure. Nicely phrased and expressed Rasma. Cheers!
Thank you, Tony.
Reality can definitely be a hard pill to swallow. However, when doused with a grain of fantasy. it easily becomes palatable. Heart felt question about sharing each other’s trek, and each other. Sometimes, though, silence and alone can be the source of “reconstitutionalizing” the soul. Very enjoyable, Rasma!
Thank you, Donald.
