Hard Not to be a Skeptic
Skeptic…please?
Typical…the satirical,
lamenting the wrongs,
disarming the strong,
just to affirm the apex,
the delusional impact
of self-proclaimed betterment,
meant to fulfill some epitome
of perfection,
a predilection unsubstantiated,
relocated in a questionable truth.
What means do they expect
to qualify this righteousness,
believe they are higher
on a scale they create, we
to pander to their needs, relate
to anyone else,
thinking they are better equipped
to tip the scales
and proclaim leadership,
in a world torn by illusion.
The eternal skeptic, epic
in my depth of questioning,
they, lecturing to me about me,
a subject in which I am informed,
and they profoundly bored,
thinking less of everyone
except themselves,
delving into uncharted worlds,
assuming they wield the power,
when truth be know, they sour.
Its hard not to be a skeptic,
drowning in rhetoric regurgitated,
activated without response,
for we have all heard it before,
deplore its iterative droning,
and knowing the shallow reason
behind every word,
those who would believe
they are superior,
a delusion well expired.
