Don’t Get Caught Up in the Negative

Don't Get Caught Up in the Negative
Don’t Get Caught Up in the Negative

I administer a sermon to myself daily,
its simply my way
of verbally keeping my mind in tune,
affirmations of understanding
that keep life balanced and reality observed.

Surrounded by harsh and heartless souls
who do nothing but try to relieve us
of our money, or pay the toll for
being decent and abiding, I often wonder
what life would be like contesting them.

But investing in a negative circumstance,
in a path of revenge, righteous morality
or just wanting injustice ceased,
keeps us in their control,
and in the end, it is we who pay the most.

Allow people to be who they are,
no matter how damning it appears to be,
for they live and suffer at their own hands,
and taking on that task just demeans us,
and hold us to their negative circumstances.

We will face numerous negative people in life,
many who by circumstance
force strife and disruption on our paths,
but there is knowledge to be gleaned,
about ourselves and how we respond.

Forgiving these malcontent s is vital,
for without it we remain tethered to their influence,
and thinking about the negative is without purpose,
it just pulls us down and into their mindset,
effecting our own sensibilities.

So be aware the narcissists, the life suckers,
those who bring emotional turmoil and imbalance,
and let them go, leave them to their own devices,
for justice is balance and what they create
will surely come undone.

Decide to live in a positive mind,
and observe but not be involved with negative people,
for there is no point in suffering their ineptitude,
far greater to understand
and choose not to partake.

Very good advice, Tony. It does not serve us well to get involved with negative people. Well done dear poet. Take care.
