Being Gemini – A Peek Inside a Double-Mind

Step inside and you will find

What a Gemini holds in their mind

It’s a busy place with little space

Good, better, best; just so many interests

Because their brains are like a sponge

Curiously they’ll take the plunge

Like a gumshoe in a dime store novel

They search the layers for the fossils

Investigating and contemplating

Always ready and on the go

Known as twins, but only one will show

Emotional extreme, sometimes they scream

Really weird, the stuff in dreams

Their jokes are dry, might make you cry

Sarcasm on an intellectual level

They love their friends, without end

But cross them and you’ll meet the devil

Independent without compare

Opinionated and willing to share

They love with passion, life everlasting

With a loyalty akin to royalty

Adaptable to any situation

Good to have around in a zombie invasion

Please no routine or repetition

It’s not part of the Gemini condition

Sometimes they’re nervous or inconsistent

But when they’re right, they’re quite insistent

Hidden beneath the fronting wild

An innocence just like a child

They hang around, but don’t pin them down

Freedom is what keeps them stable

Ride the tails, fill the sails

Keep up with them if you’re able

If you need advice, or a little spice

You’ll be rewarded with ample voice

Be certain that you approach with choice

As they hate complaining, find it restraining

Your emotional baggage is constraining

Duality, more than any other sign

Approach them with that thought in mind

It might overwhelm you like a ton

But, two in one means twice the fun

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.

Interesting phrasing on the twins. I am very close to a Gemini, grew up with him, and I see him struggle with which way to go. When he slows down and just flows with life, he is much happier. Nice work, Ralph. I enjoyed reading.
