A Need to Vision Clear

A Need to Vision Clear
A Need to Vision Clear

Thoughts like floating mist
dampened by the obligations of life,
hamper all that comes to the forefront
of freedom, thoughts
that are creative in intention,
that inspire a lengthened inquiry,
rather that the mundane repetition
of necessity.

I sometimes lose hold of the daily steps,
too wrapped up in creative pursuits,
those menial thoughts lost by priority,
but within the bounds
of a mind inept in fulfilling all my needs;
so not to overwhelm myself,
I often procrastinate,
follow not the path of pragmatism.

Perhaps I am eccentric,
or maybe on some level dementia is eyeing me up,
whatever the case, I take on what I can,
and make no apologies,
my determination my gift,
my creative muse my master,
and living on the physical
will have to wait.

The heart beats, the blood pumps,
the body recognizes hot and cold,
but the mind in dimensions bold
seeks truths in every moment,
every nuance of life, expression my plight,
never to be replaced by quotidian drudge,
the still thoughts of growth-less martyrdom,
given choice by dull noesis.

Thoughts float like gathering clouds,
sometime pristine, others in storms,
and my choices torn from necessity’s breast,
invested in other pursuits
vast and uncoupled from time’s embrace,
alone, in search of reformation,
a rearranging of paradigms
that placate my needs to vision clear.
