This, My Way in Life

The shimmer of light addresses the passing day,
as if to say fare thee well my fading friend,
gently missed to the lost decay of warm sun’s falling arc,
horizon’s orange display in graceful mourn,
as shards reach out across the blue,
infusing hues of darker blue delights,
as stars wink with newness,
as if they had just become
within the endless time of infinite space.
And as the depth of eternal darkness
does question my faith and all that I believe,
the heart sighs with gratitude,
that we are part of this cycle we know as life,
the strife and joys of being our saving grace,
amid the wealth of epiphanies placed
before our sentient minds,
the undulating rhymes of mirrored truths,
revealed to feed our kind with wonder.
The tedium fades as the gloaming,
embers that seared my raw considerations,
as day unfurled with burdens and joys alike,
thoughts that confused and in fright
abused my assumptions,
to steady my grounding flesh to earth’s sweet nurture,
as world turns in iterative motion,
and moon abides my romantic notions of love,
a heart above the day to day wearing I accept.
How true my fate,
how I mediate my traversing soul,
seeking wisdom and new light to absorb,
as darkness hides in shadow of my sentient wake,
where hope precedes me, where earth believes me
as I feed its soul, as in mine it makes me whole,
and life bears gifts of indeterminable array,
to keep me following this path,
my way in life.

It is so beautiful the way you connect your way in life and the cycle of life to nature as the day fades to night and find gratitude in the connection. Such writings from you always bring my own epiphanies to me. Great work, Tony.
So pleased you enjoyed it Phyllis. take care.
Most wonderful and inspirational poetic thoughts.
