The Blessing

Ripples through the water,
gleaning light upon the crests
in rings of ethereal gold,
gliding outwardly until the shore
does thirst their form
to still the morning light on pond.
Glimmering then is starlight muse,
as if reflection held the tune
to mirror night in day,
uphold beauty’s perpetual array
and feast upon the moment,
the rise and fall of pure light.
The gentle lapping like fairy bells,
tingling in the subtle wind,
as if a bird swooped down to gently choose
a carriage for a fae prince to snooze,
or a fish blowing bubbles,
in words of praise for morning.
Willow fronds do sway atop the water’s edge,
rings again to follow light’s sweet pledge
and glimmer in measure of morning break,
as if to salute the opening sky,
iridescent blue so vast the ceiling of the world,
as time unfurls in silent flow.
And rings do course from everywhere,
birds a fishing, fishes a taunting,
and insects skating bright
upon the mirrored pond,
life awake and surging long into the new day,
fervent life with much to say, greets the new.
Ripples through the water,
tells me life abounds, in intricate stages,
pages of a new day turning free,
in glee of what awaits in possibility,
and every form of life agrees,
tis a blessing, this destiny.

Such a magnificent new day beginning, a glorious morning to wake up to. Your expressive penning comes through so strong to give a vivid image of all this beauty. Wonderful, great piece, Tony.
Glad you enjoyed it Phyllis. Have a great day!
