Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed by change, we seek security,
a sense of familiarity and comfort
to shoulder the weight of evolving circumstance,
yet security is no governed by acquaintance,
rather an acceptance of self,
a faith in our ability to assimilate with change.
Being overwhelmed
is a conglomeration of fear,
doubts that we can handle change
and move through the present circumstance,
to thrive in the newness of being,
to accept and not buckle.
In facing these feelings we must not
give credence to their enormity,
this only strengthens the fears and in essence
creates the impasse we are so anxious about,
instead, accept the flow of circumstance,
by taking one step at a time, to overcome.
Fear can be a devastating emotion,
disabling us and rendering us immovable
if we immerse ourselves in those negative feelings,
so it is imperative that we accept inevitable change,
and walk toward it with slow and meticulous steps,
which allow us to piece by piece dissolve the fears.
Feeling overwhelmed or in panic
simply holds us still,
stuck in the torture of indecision,
and procrastinating just makes the problem worse,
fear escalating and resolution
far from any smooth transition.
At times we may feel this emotion,
but allowing it to dictate circumstance
is counter-productive,
and problems are as difficult as we allow them to be,
so learning to accept change is important,
as life is in constant change,
and our ability to accept it makes life so much easier.

One slow step at a time is the best way to enter into changes in life. Very well phrased inspiration piece, Tony. I hope you and your family have an easy and positive transition during this time of change. Take care.
Thanks Phyllis, the change I welcome with open arms, its the work that’s killing me. lol No, slowly but surely; everything is organized. Just been cleaning the oven and stove top…my favorite task…NOT! Any way it’ll be fine. I’ll just keep breathing. x
lol – I love your outlook, you are delightful and positive. Good on you, Tony. x
The only constant in life is change. You have depicted that, while evolving that spirit which is necessary to change. “The greatest fear is fear itself.” Well done!
Thanks Donald, glad you enjoyed the work. Cheers!
