Only One Stands Apart

Only One Stands Apart
Only One Stands Apart

How delicate the morning blooms,
touched by indecisive breeze,
shaking all the diamond dew
like shimmer across the water.

As petals stretch under first light,
colors bold in profuse array,
yearning for a clear sky sight,
to absorb the life so freely given.

Together, flowers of myriad hues
lean to sun like soldier on parade,
attentive minds and gleeful lives
celebrating yet another day.

And birds watch from nook and bow,
chirping loud in grateful homage,
melodious songs of hope and mirth,
they swoop to grass and forage.

Insects buzz in busy morn,
enacting vows of survival,
while creatures great and creatures small
bless the days revival.

And every life, in every realm,
sees more than just another day,
each moment of being, beauty overwhelms,
and opportunity gives credence to time,
the sway and cycles of rhythm.

And life sees not the problems,
just the purpose of struggle and survival,
and no selfish tick of blame restricts,
the joy of being, without rival.

And harmony flows like rivers,
torrent of joyous boundless striving,
for each life knows they are all one,
a vast and complex moving life, thriving.

Yet one life questions, dismisses and disregards,
as humans take for the taking,
and nature gasps in silent fear,
what consequences they are making.

As humanity is part of this vast synergy,
this assimilation of beauty and light,
how could they so disregard,
the lack of love their plight,
a sad and lonely blight.
