Fallen Angels

Fallen Angels
Fallen Angels

Fallen angels line the streets,
their ethereal glow like street lamps,
crowded by a frosted, misty night,
a luminous dark weighted sky above
where clouds escape and stars refuse to shine,
all for the angels once pristine of light,
fallen to earth as humans fall from grace,
and together they will reside,
until love is restored.

Sins abide, even in hallowed scapes,
and here on earth a gaping wound,
rated far worse in loveless hardened minds,
no rhymes or melodies to sway our fate,
as we under narcissistic rule,
suffer the indignity of fallen spirit,
driven to ground to survive the taunting machine
that drives life in captivity,
beauty shamed in grey.

Tears fall, as angels hurt,
taken from their blissful life,
all for the want of man and his lower plight
of struggle and pain, learning
in the wake of disaster,
circumstances ground to fruitless smite,
as ignorance like viral spread
impedes lives of innocence,
as all hope shreds from bone.

Fallen angels on the street,
as risen demons face the impending tug-of-war,
teetering souls of earth and paradise,
held in densest earthy weight,
commanding justice, in balances wake,
for every soul of sin,
as demons laugh to pull them in the vortex,
fiery winds and cursed flames of hell,
brought to bare those souls.

Angelic souls of love pursue
the path of men to uphold the possibilities,
not fall to a life of torturous pleas
but to fight for right and love,
on earth and above, despite the demons
despicable intent, their putrid sulfur scent,
the epitome of agony,
a loveless cruel masterpiece of pain,
to acid rain forever.

Wow! Such a grim, gloomy, unpropitious situation. You have some strong and well penned phrases here, Tony. I do see the hope for love to be restored, though. Well done.

Excellent piece my friend very deep and dark. Could you imagine if all the angels turned on us while down here. How much suffering would that be? Nice work.
