Accepting the Upheaval

Accepting the Upheaval
Accepting the Upheaval

Future time sits in anticipation,
hopes and wants the pillars of its destiny,
yet the yearning can create cracks at the periphery,
the gathering of evolving circumstances
leaving remnants, like refuse on the ground,
and we so often react to the conglomeration,
the funneled vortex dragging sub-plots of imperfection
into the stark reality of change.

That point of change, that future time
approaches with voluminous appraisal,
like a tsunami, a strong and overwhelming flow
containing the scattered debris of peripheral change,
and it is a disconcerting experience,
as if being pelted with stones,
each one a bruise of past,
ignited within a new reality.

But from an objective viewpoint,
clearing up the past, those realizations
that confront but also bear gifts,
is a cathartic process, unsettling perhaps
but valuable in its gathering and cleansing,
as one change drags many others into the flow,
and life is renewed,
as if an opportunity to start again, having learned.

We can be overwhelmed by so many aspects,
but really it is life’s way to force change,
even with things we didn’t realize needed change,
so it is far easier to just accept the revelations
and move on with a clean slate,
rather than to continue carrying the baggage,
all the dismissed thoughts that tried to alert us
of the need for attention.

Change, exacerbates change,
its process alone opening old doors shut
by our need for peace,
and reticence to deal with difficult past issues,
so when a major change begins to manifest,
so the doors open, all the untied aspects of past
and lessons needed as a consequence of change,
happily gathering like moss to a stone.

Accept the upheaval,
because it will all be worth the stress,
renewal bearing many opportunities.

Excellent piece Tony. It always goes that way a vortex wind of change has to occur to begin anew. I guess accepting is all you can do at that point. Great work my friend.
