My Multi-Faceted Soul

Threads are all I am,
connections to all the souls and places I’ve been,
lives and circumstances that define my stance,
my understanding of who I am,
and stretched so many times those threads,
in battles I know not that fed my conscious mind,
distant places lost in time
but glimmering as if in present mind,
reflections of the future and the past
that hone my soul in facets so many,
I cannot know them all, but I’m haunted
by the lasting feelings they impose.
My soul is like a station,
collecting information as it pertains to my growth,
and threads bare my scope,
both here and in all my incarnations,
all in synchronicity, a timeless present
that evokes the undulations of so many lives,
as I try to sort out my approach,
my knowing filled with confusion for all I am
in so many lives and learning,
the suffering and joys
of echoes I employ to understand,
to observe my very being within these threads.
Each thread is like a pulsing life support,
an umbilicus to the living process
and to all the lives of my connection,
as if history is woven in future’s garments,
but past relates to now,
and now is where my consciousness lay,
fragments of it all entreat my thoughts
to know more within these retorts
that echo guilt and regrets
from what I’ve done,
the sum of all my faults
and the lessons I will learn to understand.
These threads are my epiphanies and recompense,
to know how the echoes effect me here
where my consciousness lives,
and settle within my heart
the extremes of lives and deaths past and future,
that glimmer in fragments,
feelings rising up with truth’s painful affront,
how wrong my deeds and thoughts
too blunt to be effective,
and the hurt of my directives,
to learn my ignorant stance and have to change,
for the good of my multi-faceted soul.

Exceptional work with deep thoughts on many lives. I really like the reference to your soul as a station, for that is the best description I have heard. The soul is eternal and there for each life to stop and learn then the soul travels on to the next destination. Great piece, Tony, and I thank you for sharing it.
I so admire and appreciate your poetry. I have been unhappy with my own poetry lately and do not feel a connection to my spirit with it. I hope this is just a passing thing. For now I will let it rest and not force any poetry from me till I feel it once again in my heart and soul.
Thanks Phyllis. Change effects many aspects of life and rest is all you need because all things pass and with that a new perspective. Creativity and expression often needs a break to regroup and re-evaluate, so let it take its course and be patient. Glad you appreciated the verse. Cheers!
Thank you, Tony, my dear friend. x
