My Heart – No Walls

My Heart – No Walls – Love what a glorious thing. Love can also be fickle and fleeting. When you build walls around your heart either from past hurt or never wanting to get hurt in the beginning makes loving and being loved a difficult undertaking. With a heart with no walls, no boundaries, no fences, and no chains – love will be unfiltered and sewn into your sleeve for all to see. Some are frightful of this and the outcome that may not be in their favor. In my case I have never been afraid to love with no walls; my feeling is just like the age old saying, “It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.” With the season of love upon us I say love with all your heart with no regrets, no fences, no strings, no chains, no boundaries, no net, no hands, and no walls. “This poem is to be entered in the February Love Poem Contest”.

no walls

My Heart – No Walls
All my life I have always been the same,
My heart – no walls – I feel not the shame.

My heart knows no boundaries, no chains,
Even if that love brings the heartfelt pains.

Even in the end if it is not meant to be,
Loving with no walls was always the key.

Committed was I the first time I saw you,
In my heart you were my girl – I just knew.

My heart – no walls – I feel not the shame,
No fences, no strings, my heart cannot be tamed.

Words of commitment may have not been shared,
In my heart with no walls we were always paired.

My heart – no walls – never a safety net,
My heart – no fences, no hands, nothing to regret.

My heart – no walls – feels the loving breeze,
No boundaries, no chains – these are the keys.

My heart has never looked for the safest route,
Our hearts – no walls – isn’t that what it is all about?
