Words That Connect Us
Words like silk, soft to an ethereal touch,
flow like endless streams
from the mouths of divine serenity,
unaffected by the lies of human ego,
rather surrendered to life’s truth
and beyond the will of self.
Words alone cannot effect,
for it is the heart behind them,
the pure intention of good that fashions words
into afferent waves of epiphany,
thoughts that meld with the soul,
as a mind instantly realizes their worth.
Humans are superficial beings,
our first recognition only skin deep,
for the physical world is full of deception,
and trust is rarely open,
therefore much is lost from the shallow glances
of expectation, even when revelations present.
It is only when a heart becomes more vulnerable,
more open to the world, trusting in life,
that intentions become more obvious
and words transcend just their sound,
to become a means of connection,
where meaning is threefold.
Words can be revelation,
can mark a change so vital,
consequence becomes a transcendent step
into consequences not imagined
and circumstances of immeasurable reward,
just from words wound in truth.
But if we cannot hear these words,
or reject them out of ignorance,
we will never glean their intention,
and at the end their gifts,
lost to a being too mistrusting and insensitive
to recognize a pure heart’s expression.
It is not the words themselves that engender truth,
but the soul who expressed them,
the intention behind them and honesty
that will be apparent to those who take the time
to question both meaning and expression,
and connect with another soul.
