Within the Limits of My Dreams

Caught in a prism of light,
painted colors of ethereal glow,
and no matter where I gaze,
light refracting shimmers
and in a blaze of vibrant color,
melds into new worlds,
and I see not escape, just the beauty
of lights harmonious sating,
and wonder why harmony
occurs only in nature,
and we so far from its embrace.
Caught in a dewdrop,
I see the world in fish-eye scope,
a world within a world,
crystal clear and austere
in its painstaking presentation,
and trees become bent in homage,
reaching so protectively,
and sky the ceiling of worlds complete,
clouds in decoration and contrast,
seated lovingly in the heavens,
as grass so green, a wonder.
Caught in a river’s flow,
I am battered from the currents of life,
twisting and turning,
discerning where to go,
and so I relent, surrender to life,
for who am I to question,
know a direction that’s right,
and I see the world rush by
like a blur of time,
and its hard to differentiate,
to see clearly the plight.
Caught atop a mountain peak,
nowhere higher, no way down,
and I feel the freedom
like an eagle in flight,
alone upon this precipice,
in the silence of sound,
and here I realize I am at the whim of myself,
driven by perspectives I abound,
and whether in one state or many,
I endure, and profoundly live
in the limits of my dreams.

Caught in the beauty of nature and seeing life from the perspective of the Mother, relating it all to your life from dreams. Beautiful piece Tony. I just got out of hospital, so have missed three days here. It is good to get back to reading your works. Take care my dear friend.
