The Sea Whispers to Me
The Sea Whispers to me
Ever since the first time,
I laid my eyes upon the sea,
it seemed like a bond formed –
between me and the deep blue sea.
The sea is a moody as I am
and swiftly changes with the going and coming,
of the tides.
On a clear, sunny day,
it is as blue as it can be,
here and there are specks of green
and sprinkled with glittering diamonds,
when the sun shines upon the waves.
On a gray and dark day,
it is like molten silver
and the waves come crashing,
in stormy defiance,
instead of gently,
lapping against the shore.
On the best of summer days,
when its mood is like mine,
light and gay,
the sea seems to be whispering to me
and I imagine that it’s telling me,
about its life through the centuries,
of the many different lands, it has seen.
About life under the sea,
where mermaids live in castles
and magical looking fish swim
and these whispers that I hear,
become a soft melody,
its refrain heard in a seashell
and the sea seems to say –
come to me.
Let me take you on a journey
and show you the wonders I know,
I can imagine being a gull,
tired of flying,
just bobbing on the waves of the sea,
gently whispering a lullaby to me.
It would make my life so grand,
if I could live by the sea,
for the sea and I have formed a bond,
our ties go so very deep.
It’s a friendship kept with others,
in the treasure chest of my heart –
a friendship that I will forever keep.

I so relate Rasma, I have that connection with the sea and never feel better than when I’m by the shore, marveling at its beauty and power. Great work my friend.
