On a Train to Nowhere
This was prompted by my favorite Zombie Apocalypse movie made in South Korea. A brilliant film worth a look; the Koreans are really good at the horror genre.
On a train to nowhere,
passengers gather in halls and isles,
bathroom lines eclectic styles,
as classes dare to acknowledge others,
hot towel fresh and food under cover
of silver, platters full,
first class curtains drawn,
the air in there like the crack of dawn,
and comfort beyond comprehension.
On a train to nowhere;
while in economy class
the seats are hard and narrow,
squirming bodies vying for air,
just enough to pay the fare
and arrive at destination,
no food just desperation,
windows sealed like jail cells
and the toilet lines are restless.
On a train to nowhere,
each carriage full, and people moving around
just makes it worse, a spacial curse
as one more passenger joins the throng,
and sits quietly at the carriage head,
and in minutes cracking bones,
eyes all red and twisted mind
does thirst for blood its hunger,
on the train to Busan.
On a train to nowhere,
unrivaled terror unleashes dread,
as tearing flesh and people dead,
themselves to rise and thirst for blood
in a transit zombie apocalypse;
and mayhem ensues the virus spreading
like yesterday’s news,
as panic rises to an unholy eclipse,
the cycle building, carriage by carriage, the abyss.
On a train to nowhere,
no place is safe, can’t get off,
zombies running riot at every stop,
the packs in manic attack, tearing life and limb,
surging like animals, rabid purveyors of death,
and one by one they fall,
bitten and turned to beasts abhorred,
until only a few are left
on the train to Busan.
On a train to nowhere,
a woman and a child remain,
everyone dead or zombie claimed,
as the outbreak is finally contained,
and they on foot find help,
the land strewn in blood and death,
bereft of the life that used to be
on the train to Busan.

How horrifying! Extreme terror! Very well phrased Tony, and vivid imagery. ((chills)) Well done.
Just before I came down with this illness, I started writing a piece on zombie apocalypse preservation. I may finish it some day. I am feeling better each day, but still sleep a lot. Take care dear friend.
Glad to hear you’re on the mend Phyllis. Rest and get well. take care
