Finding Your Spirit Guides in a Space Known as Lost

I’ve taken space and shared space too

Sometimes uncertain on what I should do

Visiting a limbo, in a sphere I call “the lost”

Just spending some time, ‘tis my only cost

Looking for something, some guidance perhaps

Aligning priorities, before they collapse

I’m not here alone, I see other faces

A mixed population, from many many places

The theme is a commonality of uncertainty

But people are committed, their zeal purposefully

For some its boredom, others curiosity

With but a kindred few, there to seek luminosity

The path to enlightenment, for certain, misunderstood

Not everyone can perceive, that all intentions must be good

It seems some walking here, wish to have a duality

Hiding misgivings, as they create false realities

Developing an appearance of someone edified

It’s shallow, but to them another way to be recognized

Truth tellers know, the best of both worlds ‘tis but a lie

You can choose only one, and the others go bye

Mysteries and baggage, many carry inside

Gives them a comfortable space they can hide

So they miss their higher power, a guide most divine

It’s waiting in plain sight, so obvious to find

As materialism inhibits, any chance for full release

They’ll continue to search, but never find inner-peace

In observation in visitation, I’ve learned so so much

How most people distract, ignore, avoid and such

As if they were creating a litany, of how to not succeed

Supported with evidence, in every action and every deed

I’ve pondered on compiling the wrongs on a list

Some without recourse and others easily dismissed

To demonstrate when we focus on the path to failure

It’s toxic and certain to impact multiple behaviors

Some once instilled become quite impossible to change

Others still pending, with a chance to exchange

And for some of the travelers, the journey is a test

With only their knowledge, they try for the best

Not ready, but taking chances, exploring lands unknown

Randomly filling their hearts, with the things they’ve been shown

Observing the few who seek the shine of enlightenment

And their disillusion with the imprisonment of the environment

The gathered masses, all seeking something new

Methodologies differ, all are subjected to review

A common thread, one for certain, I see it emerge

They speak of togetherness, but fail to converge

Souls standing close, lost and preoccupied

The distractions of living, still blinded to their guides

Each with a list, one held tied to their mind

A check-off with places and things they might find

So they visit the limbo, the space where they dream

An imaginary land, where things appear as they seem

And many succumb, the false beauty of “the lost”

Decades go by, invisible lines become crossed

Lifetimes completed, unfinished and void

Their invisible worlds, slowly destroyed

Living is so more, than a class or seminar

It’s a journey to discovering, exactly who you are

Sadly for most, the solution was always floating about

To let goodness in, you must push badness out

Committing to living with an open heart and open mind

You won’t have to look, but understanding you’ll find

So I’ve observed and kept track with precision

Offering some wisdom, to help your decision

As you seek, you shall find, if you live and embrace

All the goodness and magic to be found in your space

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.

The journey of finding oneself is varied, some are guided, others alone in their quest, others still cannot realize a quest at all. For those who seek truth and wisdom and a spiritual enlightenment, life is a kaleidoscope of experience and epiphanies. So nicely expressed Ralph, on this path of lost and found. really enjoyed it. Cheers!
