To Face Another Day

To Face Another Day
To Face Another Day

Eloquent the dusting
of fading light upon the land,
rich hues like flickering gold
on velvet variegations of blue,
growing into deep purple, studded night,
as sun wavers to its sinking bed,
far below the horizon’s trace.

How silent this transformation,
this deliverance, filled with wonder,
as if life aghast, stands in homage
to the beauty bestowed,
no words or infringements
can take away this serene moment,
just imbibe its purity and sate.

Birdsong suddenly breaks silence,
a tune so sweet to herald change,
and glisten its plume under moon
as ethereal light dusts every leaf and shoot,
as if to promote its very being,
and sigh I must for the beauty,
the heavenly calm of heart, imparted.

Stars like echoes sight, alight
to uplift the night and share the timeless
plight of yesteryears,
like diamonds glittering, suns disappearing
into the swallowed fate of life,
so long ago my eyes to see beginnings,
at endings plea.

Night prevails, like a cloak to day,
and in the chill of embers fading,
beauty marks this play of cycles,
ever mysterious, ever paradoxical,
yet a soothing touch of nature’s hand
to seek the balance of beginnings end,
and the hopes of hearts to face
another day.

Its one of my favorite times of day and over the years I’ve written hundreds of poems. I guess the trick is to try and bring fresh wording and phrases to each expression, which I work hard on doing. So glad you enjoyed it Anjana. Have a wonderful day my dear friend.
