Be Kind to Yourself

Be Kind to Yourself
Be Kind to Yourself

Like a breeze upon the cheek,
the gentle release of day,
when moments collide in memory
of all that coincided with our plans,
the intentions we so strived to render,
and in recalling the wins and losses,
we resolve and make peace
to stir feelings of acceptance,
and carry not a burden of past,
just release.

Another day, another step,
each one unique and fruitful,
as we travail the course of life,
and in balance try to maintain
the peace within us,
work for betterment and empathy,
for all who know not their way,
and if we can conquer blame and judgement,
so much better our play,
the understanding of self.

The sun’s warmth dusts our skin,
a feeling of contentment and nurture,
and clouds pass by in burgeoning knowledge
of the time elapsing,
where form is endless, as potential guides us
to follow dreams and let past behind us, settle,
at ease with its own undulations,
and in letting go what haunts us
we are given flight,
a broader perspective in life.

When horizon’s embers glow orange
and blues to purples reflect the heavens,
a cool refrain embodies the releasing,
the ceasing to worry of what’s already been,
and in the lessons, the learning of our faults,
we surrender, as the sky,
to the cooling of circumstance,
the recompense for all we wronged and felt,
in eyes for seeing right we address,
the limits and possibilities of self.

Then in the eternal possibilities of slumber,
we dream our dreams of desires and woes,
to close the doors to past, open doors to the new day
and say to ourselves, we are complete
but learning, discerning our path,
and all that is put before us is right,
no matter the plight, for we are strong,
and judgement just tethers us, as fear,
as we have choices to restore the tears
and let life abide its wondrous journey.

Such a beautiful , inspirational verse dear Tony..Sometimes it is hard to let go of the past regrets..but, as you said , it would definitely be better if we can forgive ourselves after embracing the lessons learnt from our mistakes..thank you so much for sharing..really enjoyed reading..
