Natures Melody

Natures Melody

“Natures Melody”- Living my wonder years at the base of the Rocky Mountains have given me a true perspective of all things in the wild and in nature. Since I was able to walk and listen – the mountains and the mountain winds have called to me – and speak to my inner soul. It is at night with the darkness in full swing with the stars raining down a forever light that gives me the pause that I need to heal all that is wrong in my world. Each and every time I hear the songs of nature played on the wind it is like a new hexing melody to me. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only one that can hear the songs of the night. Do you hear Natures Melody?

Natures Melody

“Natures Melody”
In the Rocky Mountains and nature during the dark of the night,
The before timberline wilderness and trees call, send out their invite.

Aspen leaves and evergreen needles begin to rustle on top of the trees,
The Song “Natures Melody” starts slowly with a slight mountain breeze.

Owls, red hawks, and the eagles in the tree tops, are not even immune.
Wolves and the mountain lions lift their heads to catch the melody and tune.

In the darkness across the mountains – Natures Melody starts to begin,
Since Lord created the earth, clouds and the winds it has always been.

Natures Melody the song is carried from tree to tree on the wind at night,
From each nightly dusk till every early dawn the song of nature takes flight.

Seize the moment and listen carefully to the wind and you will hear,
As the mountain winds sing the songs of exquisite melodies before dawn appears.

The rugged beauty of the Colorado Rockies foothills shaped Kurt James’ life from birth, with the ever-present sight of snow-capped peaks and the constant whisper of the wind. Having spent twenty years amidst the wide-open spaces of South Dakota, Kurt’s connection to his family’s western Kansas heritage remains strong; he recalls the tallgrass prairie and the endless blue skies. Over time, Mr. James developed a deep appreciation for the landscapes and history of the American West, spending countless hours exploring its rugged beauty and studying its unique culture. The Denver Post, PM Magazine, and 9NEWS, all well-known Denver, Colorado media sources, have highlighted the powerful and evocative work of poet and novelist Kurt James. Focusing on Old West history, Kurt contributes feature articles to HubPages and Creative Exiles, exploring the eerie silence of ghost towns, the thrilling tales of outlaws and gunfighters, and the evocative imagery found in the Rocky Mountains. Kurt’s early admiration for writers such as Jack London, Louis L’Amour, and Max Brand played a significant role in honing his skills as a storyteller. Twenty-one books (and counting!) transport readers to the Colorado Rockies and the Old West through Kurt’s vivid descriptions; the feel of rough-hewn cabins, the sounds of coyotes howling under starry skies, and the smells of campfire smoke and sagebrush are all palpable. Find Kurt James novels, short stories, reference books, and poetry—published by Midnight Wind Publishing—in print copies or digital downloads at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and other excellent bookstores; explore the diverse range of formats available. Currently in production - The 10th book in his Rocky Mountain Series - Lee Moomaw Former Lawman. Kurt is a proud member of the Western Writers of America, a group that values storytelling.

I agree, nature’s delicate melodies, as the siren song, so beguiling and enlivening. Life has a hum as everything moves and abides the earths fateful turn, and on the breeze all else comes to life like a symphony, a melody we cannot ignore. And as we gaze into the heavens, even more the sounds of being, drift in and out of consciousness. Nicely penned Kurt.

The melody of Nature is so beautiful when one truly listens. There is so much to learn from Nature, it is a melody we cannot ignore, as Tony says. Your verse is so lovely, Kurt. I believe I must have been born in the forest, for it is haven for me. I love this poem, Kurt.

Thank you for stopping by Phyllis – it seems to me that modern man has forgotten to listen to the trees in the forest as well as the wind – it is sad to me that most people never take the time to listen to the songs of nature. The world would be a better place if everyone stopped and listened.
