Mirrored Souls in Flow

One door closes, another opens,
and expectation has a use by date,
fate, if you will, endowed
with circumstances required,
and for all our pangs of loss and betrayal,
’tis just life’s veils being lifted, one by one,
until we’re done, or at least
see what a soul needs
to honor its own ascension.
We may become attached, needy,
value relationships beyond their capacity,
or we may pass in the night,
a familiar flight, souls of our family
life after life, and know,
that we all will surely meet again,
in the ebbs and flows of life,
and the gleaning of the soul
is our plight, regardless.
Do not focus on this life alone,
for each facet offers but a glimpse of the whole,
and when family simply drifts away,
wish them well, ’tis not theirs to stay,
but follow their own path,
and we each are part of one another,
carried on in unique ways,
until we rediscover our place,
in some other life together.
Tears are temporary,
as life is infinite, and joy should be held
for however long it is,
for what recognition brings, when we unite,
and in our hearts we know,
who truly is family,
not by blood but soul we strive
to experience all and derive,
a peaceful heart in our rightful place.
Dawns are just sunsets anew,
as love is our binding,
and although time parts
love is never-ending, in these our lives,
eternal worlds of learning,
pretending until we know,
lucid in the flow of life,
each one a facet of the one,
profound endings just beginning.

Yes, tears are temporary, yet they are cleansing as each teardrop carries away a hurt, or sorrow, and the heart opens to guide us in the next chance of infinite life. Souls travel through lives with the same group time after time – this is family, whether blood, mates, or friends. This is a great piece, Tony. It is one of those that send me into spiritual thoughts and peace. Wonderful work, dear poet.
Much appreciated Phyllis, so pleased you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
