I, In Awe, Will Follow

I play the dice,
and roll they may to unknown ends,
yet life commends my participation,
my risk a half-breath apprehension,
yet to be told, but still I roll,
let life unfold as it may,
and who will betray my trust,
when I let winds carry what I must
to find my rightful path,
in this universe or that,
or this form or a speck of dust
in a void of space
or in time’s unrelenting ardor.
What’s left to lose,
death a door knock I refuse
yet one day to affirm,
and so my guards to discern
are too busy with their own plight,
and I, too entrenched in life
to consider what’s next,
hexed by my doubts,
lorded over by proclivity,
I climb my highest peaks,
just to see who speaks in heaven,
and to know when this is done,
I’ll have a place to come,
and rest my weary bones.
I see the sun,
rise and set and rise again,
time’s annoying counter,
and circumstances come and go,
lessons learned and failure more to show,
yet I shall not despair,
care too much of my statistics,
I must be realistic
and know morals are not
a gauge of definitive cause,
rather what I see in justice of my course,
my chosen responses to life,
the strife and the joy of experience
that offered steps and plight.
I must risk it all,
to have anything of value,
love the purpose and I in awe,
will follow.

Risk is often scary, yet without risk one never knows what the path will be. Trust in Self is paramount to living life. I really like this verse, Tony. Well done.
Thanks Phyllis glad you do and take care my friend, hope its not too cold where you are. 100+ the next few days here.
100+ Good grief! Can you share some of that heat? lol It has warmed up a little, but not enough to take my winter big shirt off. Take care, Tony and don’t get a sunburn.
