Removing the Injustice, My Lesson

Removing the Injustice, My Lesson
Removing the Injustice, My Lesson

Pensive, ever petulant,
for the injustice I cannot abide,
yet I know it’s my lesson, to allow,
to watch with aching heart
the disdain and pain exacted on innocents,
the seeming inequity of movement,
brought about by narcissists,
who do not know better,
caught in the gossamer web
of their own self-importance.

I struggle with this, not as a victim,
but an observer,
having to see the hurt and travail
of unworthy proponents of ill-intent,
while the purveyor remains in freedom’s care,
to exact harm and strife at will,
and I, shedding tears for those innocents
caught in range of fire,
bleeding flesh aspired.

Kindness is a burden to an open heart,
watching pain and suffering impart
its scars on virgin flesh,
lost in thoughts of punishment,
recompense imagined,
when innocence echoes heart
to all who see the inequity,
the harsh lessons of dark souls,
pleasured in the dissemination
of willful torturous art.

I must abide my knowing,
to let those who need to suffer, learn,
but it runs against the grain,
and my desire to save, ingrained,
questioning my awareness,
my need to see too much
and not respond,
squirming I am to shut my mind,
to ignore the betrayals and unkind
attacks of malice.

So I must allow,
and try to calm this injustice so dark,
remove it from my heart.

Sometimes it is impossible not to interject, but however will those narcissistic few learn of their wrong doing if they are never raked over their own coals every once in a while. You have a good heart there my friend. Like Phyllis said keep it pure and understanding. Nice work, very deep my friend.

Glad you appreciated it Paul, its not easy keeping oneself apart from the disasters some people create, but in separation we see truth clearly and in protection not stoop to their lows. Cheers!
