Flowing with Life or Let Bias Stand

Fluent life in veracious flow,
exacerbates the fallen snow,
covering sins in pristine white,
temporary relief for human sight,
yet melt it may that beauteous cover,
the grime of life beneath it smothered,
and the cold does burn the filth below,
gutters filled with human lows,
but snow cannot remove intent,
cannot placate that rancid scent
of death, trapped within the cold,
the beauty presupposed.
Two sides to life in every aspect,
black and white, darkness and light,
and for every beauty there is in life,
a darker perspective resides,
for without it comparison imbibes
a different truth,
a ruse of how we see the world,
a flag unfurled to reveal the cost
of observing one side alone,
so prone to misguidance,
an imbalance that can
disrupt our perceptions of reality.
Let us see the light,
but appreciated the darkness
from whence it came,
the same for every plight,
a balanced view of right,
as world in many aspects
dreams of better days,
we play with disarray,
taunting our lives with unveiled risk,
the trysts with demon foes,
and predisposed to falling,
we cannot help abhorring our ineptitude.
Life presents as we expect,
and change without acceptance wrecks
our petty plans, teetering over the abyss,
a list of all our fears,
geared to disarm our minds to learn,
to discern our flagrant will,
to instill some modicum of sense,
some worthy reference to truth,
before the ruse buries us alive.

Yes, there are “two sides to life in every aspect”. Great verse, Tony. I especially like the meaning and flow of your first stanza, the metaphor is perfect. Well done, dear poet.
Below 28 f. last night here and I know your temp is hot, hot, hot. lol – we are like Yin-Yang – my night/dark is your day/light, hot / cold, etc. Marvelous! Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it Phyllis, life to me is all about perception. Take care.
