In the Eyes of Mother, Perfection

Perfection…
In the cool of shade,
within spotted leaves
and creeping symbiotic vines,
life ekes out existence,
light spattered from so high above,
shards like points of light
invade the foliage beneath,
patterns like a heavenly gaze,
dotted points in a vast eternal maze,
a microcosm, twisting, turning
in the haze of vaporous air.
Greens so vast in array,
as if honed by the master’s brush,
each life touched by miracles,
and light assumes the scope,
its gentle touch in highlight
excites the rising air,
as butterflies and flying ants
compare the updraught ride,
those shards of light like ladders
to be climbed,
up to reach the sky.
Pristine blooms and fern fronds open,
to trap the intermittent light,
like mouths competing,
reaching for the eternal blue of sky,
tucked away behind a canopy,
fingers woven in a clench,
an ordered manner be
of sympathetic life,
as the musty scent of barks
and mulching leaves, swirl in afferent will,
spores and seeds do seek their paths.
In light and shade,
in yearning reach,
life writhes in sentient knowing,
connected all in being and growing,
sharing every nutrient gleaned,
not one thrives without the other,
and death just the start
of yet a new life burgeoning,
shoots stirring to rise,
and in the eyes of mother,
perfection.

No where is life so perfect as in the hand of the Mother. I love rain forests and you portray them so beautifully, Tony. Lovely work, so pristine and peaceful. Great piece, my friend. Take care.
Thanks Phyllis, its my favorite environment, and I love just being within it. Cheers!
