Choices, and Losing Connection with Life
Both beauty and darkness are within us,
and it is our choice as to how we relate
and express our thoughts and observations,
see the endless beauty of life
or see opportunities for self-gain
and aspirations of status, power and wealth.
In these choices, no matter their roots,
we take responsibility for their consequences,
and this is what defines a physical life,
creates the playing field of our circumstances,
the very flow of life,
either filled with obstacles and struggle
or an unencumbered flow.
Those who choose a positive perspective,
are faced with challenges also,
but their perspective gives them balance,
and they accept responsibility
and face their fears,
allowing learning to justify their woes.
Those who choose self, and personal gain
as their justification,
will face many obstacles and challenges
that will inhibit life’s cause,
and they often learn little from their battles,
rather blame and vent anger for injustice.
In the eyes of beauty and to love life,
is a sentient acceptance of responsibility,
facing fears and obstacles front on,
and having faith in life’s balance
can temper the storms that so many experience,
as we travail the course of earthly being.
To acknowledge beauty is a gift,
a gift that is key to accepting this journey,
learning and betterment the purpose,
and if we acknowledge yet choose light over darkness,
we experience more of reality,
see reality in clear perspective.
Dark choices create disharmony,
malice, greed, selfishness and judgement
cannot uplift a soul, simply make it stagnant,
and the consequence of such thinking
is far worse in the end,
for we lose connection with life.
