The World Together We Have Sewn

Resplendent the falling day,
the stirring tides and night array,
of blistered suns as ghosts appear,
and smiling moon arisen clear,
and hearts do sigh for all that passed,
in days travail, now home at last,
to nurture sleep and dreams to hold,
in freedom’s flight a nourished soul,
until the sun on passion’s arc,
heralds life to day impart,
and soaring birds on feathered wing,
rejoice for light and everything,
as nature’s ardent cycles bring
the simple joy of being.
I watch the sea, it rolling skin,
its torrid tides and the joy it brings,
the salty air and freshest spray,
that yields a face alive to say,
what a blessing is this blue,
this ever-changing hue of reflected sky,
strewn with clouds of pristine white,
a precious gift, an eternal sight,
beneath those lives so diverse,
a paradise here on earth,
and creature big and creatures small,
look up to thank the sky for more,
another day in life’s sweet hold,
another night to dream.
And gratitude is all there is,
for given life is the greatest gift to give,
and no matter what each day brings,
tis a blessing for the birds to sing,
and praise the day at hand,
for what it brings our challenge stands,
and in our choices life unfolds,
stories new and stories old,
each one beneath that arcing sun,
as time does beat a finite drum,
and the more we appreciate each moment shared,
the more we find in loving care,
that we are not alone,
the world together we have sewn.

Very emotive, beautiful, imparting joy and the blessings of a glorious day, of life – brings tears to my eyes for its beauty. Excellent, great work, indeed, Tony.
So pleased you enjoyed it and found it inspiring Phyllis. We all should be grateful for what we have, regardless of quantity, as life is gift enough. Take care.
