They Used to Be Whole

Tempting, the guile of treacherous tongues,
disseminating wills in subtle nuance,
yet below that smile, that amorous countenance,
lies the fire and damnation of hell’s disarray,
and in their seemingly nurturing embrace,
comfort lasts not long,
before the hissing fires of intention
are unleashed in clear focus.
How burned we become,
lesions of flesh in dark requiem,
as minds so clinically attuned,
ravage all that poses threat, that opposes
the will of these recalcitrant beings,
so self-centered as to be blind
to reality’s state, delusions blown
into piecemeal shapes, just to fit.
They hover over pristine lives,
so intent on gleaning life, sucking
complete the will of all who they know,
and the drain is much to bare,
their conspiring minds the affront
of hurt and shredded circumstance,
all for the gratification of denial
and delusion.
Their tempting reaches some,
too trusting to question, and they
in their open hearts, suffer,
for when the reality is revealed,
the shock is more than pain, more than confusion,
it is life altering, especially
when that soul is a loved one,
someone who used to be whole.

It is sad and so hard to bear when a loved one turns to deceit and harmful ways. You are greatly loved and loved whole here. Take care, dear friend.
Thank you Phyllis, a sad story but common these days; people get so lost. Take care.
