Tantrums of Failed Dreams

Swallowed whole,
then regurgitated, unassimilated,
I pick up my broken bones and flesh,
disavowed my worth so etched,
and discarded, so distasteful.
My ending so aspired,
and being eaten derived such pleasure,
until of course my essence held,
a vile abhorrence not to meld,
and up I came, rejected violent purging.
You see I may be blamed,
I may cut the truth too close,
and those whose darkened light exposed,
obliged to rid the source,
and harm the one who knows.
Swallow me then,
feel what it is to contain the truth,
and I laugh as you evacuate,
coagulate and shrivel under light of ruse,
for your ill-intent and vile malevolence so construed.
Spat from the devil’s stomach,
singed and acrid I leave you,
all that is positive like a poison to you,
and I, delivered whole
from your hopeless long lost soul.
So take your best shot,
for I’ll leave you in the dust,
love too much for you to handle,
and blame all you like, dreams of vendettas trite,
but I am just a mirror,
all your thoughts reflected back.
Swallowed whole,
but this soul is safe, tucked away inside,
and you waste your time, trying to destroy
that which you do not understand,
cannot hope to grasp,
in your tantrums of failed dreams.
