I Remember – Every Moment of Comfort
I remember….
The soft kiss on your lips
…awake but for a moment
I watched you as you settled
…perhaps back to a dream
Dark skies outside of our window
…a lengthy day of travel ahead for me
Two heavy cases; packed and waiting
…many miles to be covered
Endless hours of passing clouds
…followed by waiting and lines
A cold sterile hotel room
…each one different, but still the same
The pristine white double bed
…flat, uncomfortable, and foreign
How I long to abandon this journey
…take off my shoes and coat
Slip back between the warmth
…my skin touching your skin
Your soft breathing my only focus
…drowsiness from languishing comfort
Our legs intertwined as they always are
…exchanging energy in our dormancy
And yet, I falter and glance at the time
…the hour of action suddenly upon me
With sadness, I take a mental snapshot
…as I’ve done so many times before
My clearest recollection of you
…holding it tightly until I return
In a moment, I’ll be missing you
…missing every flutter of your eyes
The soft caress of your fingers
…the curve of your hips
How you look deep into my eyes
…always bringing out the best in me
Without ever speaking a word
…often leaving me in wonderment
And filling me with an amazing peace
…calming my trepidations, however small
Your words whisper to me so often
…as I remember every moment
Every second we shared together
…the clock counting down the minutes
Until the you and I are reunited
…becoming the we, we’re meant to be
Have I told you today how much I love you
…not only the magical words
But the emotion and pure beauty
…your bring to me and the world
How my existence became living
…once you entered my life
My dreams grew into a reality
…and my reality into an epic romance
A dance without the need of music
…rest without sleeping
Passion shared in a single look
…our two spirits sharing a single soul

A very romantic and emotively written piece Ralph, very much enjoyed, Cheers!
Such a deep, abiding love portrayed in marvelous phrasing. Beautiful work, Ralph, so beautiful.
Great imagery and depth of emotions.
