In Haste We Waste Our True Thoughts

In Haste We Waste Our True Thoughts

Haste a mistake…

No words of adhesion
were ever uttered in haste,
saturated with emotions
and a defensive posture,
yet we so often respond in turmoil,
as if words dipped in hate,
when truly we should find meaning,
not use words like bullets,
intended to displace.

We are so defensive,
as if wrong an impossible host,
clinging to the delusion
that we are beyond reproach,
a righteousness innate,
when we are at the mercy of protection,
ready to pounce on anyone that questions,
and our haste is more than evident,
as our emotions lead astray.

Some attest to anger,
others to ego’s plea,
yet there is no justification
in claiming perfection’s being,
and in haste we are without reason,
emotions vented in vile affront,
and the words that are emoted,
cannot be taken back to appease
the blunt insults of air escaping.

In calm manner words are exacted,
their meanings chosen in consideration,
and no harm can come from sincerity,
no defense in opposition,
when we evoke our true feelings
without the rush of emotion,
and so choose words carefully,
know from where they come,
for nothings is gained by contention,
nothing we have done.

So true, Tony. When we respond in haste to something the words are negative, for we give in to sensitivities and hurt. T’is much better to wait till we are calm and can observe to see with clarity. Great thoughts to remember. Well done. x
