Growing in the Light
What truths slip away, dissipate
like wafts of smoke from a candle snuffed,
ethereal words lost in exhalations
of lies evoked and silenced.
We may perceive them not,
let them fade in obscurity,
and that candle of potential quashed,
for all it can be in illumination.
Truth is truth, whether we see it or not,
there is no contesting,
but when we choose to ignore it,
we grow roots in a stagnant now.
Truth exists only when it is realised,
in ignorance it is merely a passing idea,
relinquished to the ether,
and we no better or worse for its coming.
When a souls is ready to know,
then truth comes into its own,
revelations abound and truth resounds
in an epiphany of meaning.
Yet we so often close ourselves,
choose the known path
in thinking there is safety in comfort,
regardless of the profundity of change.
We can be gormless souls,
so paranoid and filled with fear,
when life just wishes we were here,
to accept the bounty.
So when possibility is proffered,
and truth on offer,
accept the thoughts and change within,
to grow that much more in light.
