Entanglement, Our Pure Connection with Life

I see my reflection in water,
a shimmering refraction of my countenance,
yet in recognition, that water
is as me, the stuff of me,
and so what keeps us apart,
when we are one, an element
and an organism,
the vessel of its holding;
so I consider the separation,
the connection we share,
and I know my sentient mind
sees all things separate,
when truly they are all one,
just different manifestations
of the same thing,
held in form by the same energy.
Yet the matter of our form
does not actually touch outside itself,
held in separate vessels,
while energy itself pervades it,
and in that way
we are profoundly connected,
the water and I, the tree and I,
and every form of existence;
so if thought effects the physical world,
and energy is pervasive
with all forms of manifestation,
then my thoughts
connect with all of life,
whether mineral,
plant or complex organism,
I am a part of all worlds.
It is often hard to assimilate this truth,
when we see all things as separate to us,
yet in our various forms,
we are parted by space
filled with the same matter and energy,
for there is no void,
just our perception that defines it,
and so we assume we are separate;
the reality is we are part of
a flow of energy that is uniform
within a vast network of vessels,
organisms or whatever,
that abide this field of energy
we call life, and in that
life abounds in myriad forms and processes
of which we may connect and effect.

Deep and complex Tony – I especially liked the line “just our perception that defines it.” That would seemingly hold true across so many parts of human existence. We ARE all connected.
Glad you appreciated it Ralph, yes we are all connected and can be on a much deeper level of understanding. Cheers!
Great piece, Tony. Deep esoteric thoughts that encourage wonderment and the desire to learn. Well done, dear poet.
Thank you Phyllis, so glad you enjoyed the thoughts. Cheers!
