Crossing that Line of Change

Crossing that Line of Change
Crossing that Line of Change

The line before me
is as slender as a spider’s web,
stronger than a steel peg
and divided the two extremes
of steps untrodden.

I dare not step into the fray,
nor back from where my problems lay,
and I cannot stay upon this thread,
the demarcation of words unsaid,
where truths can tear apart.

Yet here I stand in quandary,
before my future tethered or free,
where choices are not clearly cut,
consequences far reaching clutter
my weary mind.

As choices in domino effect,
rattle cages to feel inept,
knowing there is more than meets the eye,
as I try to fathom what’s best for me,
the symmetry of what I need to be.

So confusion reigns,
and hesitant I stand face to face,
with changes I must make,
to expand this vessel in potential,
and set my soul free.

And when that step of intention marks,
a new world, the aftermath of past,
and new horizons breach
the repetition of yesterdays beseeched,
now to show a different light in truth.

I am thankful for that single step,
that transforms all, as past is left,
and each breath fresh
and air so sweet in newness,
I just can’t wait to breathe.

It is the unknown that makes us hesitant to proceed. May all your steps lead you to bliss, joy, peace, love and happiness, Tony. I love your verse. It shows hope and courage. Very well penned, dear poet.
