What’s Said and Done in Rash Resolve

What's Said and Done in Rash Resolve
What’s Said and Done in Rash Resolve

Above and beyond the thoughts of men,
are the choices that define their path,
much like a burst dam,
the water flows in one direction,
and the force is powerful in its release,
unstoppable even when realized a mistake,
as one torrent can tear a world apart.

Less seen is the periphery of choice,
the ramifications as a consequence,
when single directions are not considered
more that one idea of intent,
yet all things are connected,
and intentions often splay out
to realms unexpected.

Paths when ill-considered
may spread like tributaries,
endlessly effecting life beyond that intended,
and far more dire consequences ensue,
when rash and headstrong views are given direction,
and one small step from one small thought,
can in chain reaction hurt so many.

For all our arrogant thinking,
so often actions or reactions are fraught with peril,
for they from intent, gather momentum
and in supported thought
transform to far worse,
unleashed to its own projection
and collateral damage.

Then, words spoken in rash response,
actions of ill-considered ploy,
may create a life beyond itself,
and regret the sorrow of ignorance,
to begin something one cannot impede,
a torrent of consequences
that began from lesser intent.
