To Welcome In the Day

To Welcome In the Day
To Welcome In the Day

Colored dreams, like mist collides
with sweet mornings rhymes,
intent on infusing with engaging hues,
my muse of infinite shine,
inclined to draw words like blood
to flood my senses and with pen in hand,
command my day.

Yellow morning shards, dance
like pond skaters, riding,
and birds swoop as if sliding down rays,
displays of artistic marvel, eyes flashing,
focused upon an early treat,
a discreet snack to rippled water
phrase, radiating.

And I arise, none the wiser,
bleary-eyed and finding clarity,
disparity in my human eyes,
yet world in perfect symmetry,
as I invade the morning with my views,
colored dreams,
fading memories ensue.

Frosted pane, droplet races,
golden light on blue sky traces,
and light rattles my senses,
thoughts like mud in absence
ventures out, to align the mind
in kind with break of day,
betrayed by sleep so deep, now in decay.

Crystal palace, light now streaming,
ruffled sheets and morning scheming,
to drag me into day,
leave doona lock and knitted socks what may,
as waken I must to reality,
the causality of what I must say,
to welcome in the day.
