Men Without Grace…Holding Back Our Future

Evolving for our future…
I may find the measure of a man,
not by what he says but what he does,
and no amount of words can replace
a gesture, a move of grace,
that embodies a selfless caring.
Men are still learning to be nurturers,
the aggressors of yesterday are moot,
for we no longer hunt for food,
or fear predators on the loose,
and every aspect of the sexes points to sharing.
Evolution brings closer the sexes,
segregated less from gender roles,
and more of an integrated front,
interchanging roles from ability
rather than outmoded and biased sexism.
Today a man is emotional,
strong but not brutal,
compassionate but not weak,
and can nurture children as a mother can,
as love is equal, no dominant roles prevail.
Yet there are still wars,
men who have not evolved and remain blunt,
fixed on power and dominance,
in partnerships and leadership;
these men hold mankind back
from peace and our future.
