The Low-Circling Vulture

The Vulture…
She pieces hearts with no regret,
changes lives and circumstance,
following her private war
of altruism,
and no breath drawn of kindness,
would ever temper plans,
for she sees not the consequence
of her actions.
Pleasant in her countenance,
so perfect in motherhood and care,
yet all is not as it seems,
a cold blooded creature
dressed in human clothes she bares,
and few see through her guile,
her pretense to me so clear,
a low circling vulture,
I shudder in chilled despair.
Each move considered and selfish,
beneath the ruse of care,
while every step to her endgame,
is blatantly forged to gain control
and wealth her focused stare,
while parents languish vulnerable,
unable to grasp her play,
believing they will be lovingly cared for
in their long life’s final days.
It seems money
drives so many souls to extreme,
able to discount the lives of their own family
just to elevate their dreams,
yet inheritance is no right,
but a kind gesture from parent to child,
taken to the limits of thievery
and a heartless disrespect,
from ungrateful soulless tides.

It makes it so difficult to have someone like that in one’s life. I know a person like that and her family find it unbearable, yet nothing said will stop her from consuming everything for herself. Even when she seems to do something kind she has ulterior motives and all can see right through her. Nothing short of death will stop people like that. I empathize with you and hope things will change for the better. You deserve so much better. Take care, Tony.
I just hate watching the mother of this person, completely brainwashed thinking the daughter will take care of them, when I know its to take control of the 1.5 million they have. The father, who is my best friend, is only moving because he knows that his wife is unable to care for herself and is slowly losing it. At this point I just care about him and would prefer him to stay here with us, who will take good care of him. Sorry I’m going on, I just need to vent. Its very upsetting. Thank you Phyllis, for your kindness.
No reason to be sorry, Tony, for venting. You obviously need to and you are among friends here who care.
This is very unsettling Tony, and I am sorry it relates to your personal friends. I have also known people who circle like like vultures for the inheritance from elderly parents…but they were never around to assist them when they needed it. Well expressed.
Much appreciated john, yes, its a sad situation for sure. Cheers!
