Despite the Darkness, Rise

Despite the Darkness, Rise
Despite the Darkness, Rise

The flow of life is relentless,
struggling to survive, to replicate,
and death like birth, is intrinsic,
the cycles so delicately written
within our innate being.

I wonder sometimes,
how infinite this rhyme,
evolving as we add to the stream
of knowledge,
add to our soul family.

And perhaps one day,
we will be as one,
each facet of a soul the inclusion of another,
until we are whole, until
perfection marks our being.

Belief is perhaps an ambivalence,
when truly we cannot know,
yet growing is a purpose, learning
and better shall we strive,
till understanding is our measure.

In this lowly realm,
where hatred and violence mark human life,
we can but find a spiritual plight,
a direction into light,
to at least begin our journey.

For we are tainted, imperfect souls,
and strive we must to overcome our nature,
to manifest a better way of living,
and see our souls respond,
a heart more open to love.

Despite the darkness,
we have a choice, and love is ours to embrace,
for if not here we remain,
in the dark echoes of that voice of ineptitude,
the eyes of judgement and contention.

I have always believed we all are part of One. We each travel different paths to pick up different wisdom and experience, so that when the time comes to return with perfection to the One, our journey on Earth has ended and higher realms open to us. I have often told others that if we are perfect then we would not be here on Earth. Your poem is profound, Tony.

Yes agree Phyllis, ‘if we are still here, we haven’t finished yet.’ And many times we come back, I believe, in order to learn all we must to progress. So glad you related and enjoyed my thoughts. Cheers!
