Always Hold On to Beauty

Hold beauty in mind,
for all the ugliness can override our sight,
can taint the very words in our hearts,
and what have we left
when beauty fades from mind,
a winter chill that keeps us bound,
wrapped in layers of protection,
hardened to the cold.
Life is filled with sorrow,
loss at every curb,
yet in circumstance there is reason,
and in hurt it may escape our mind,
as we may flail in dark despair,
unknowing the purpose,
the learning that by design
will delivery us to wisdom.
Nature knows no intent,
just cause and effect,
and blame is not her role,
just to follow protocol and in balance make,
for a sustainable world,
and in her strides for balance disaster may occur,
not personal, just a result of imbalance
that needs to be addressed.
The culling of lives is necessary,
by any means, for our survival on this world,
and nature’s wrath is not malicious,
just necessary, for we have exceeded our limits,
over-population, depleting resources
and arrogantly playing God,
all of which has consequence
and from our eyes, disaster.
Yet our mother earth is beautiful, in all its aspects,
and until we accept her needs,
our needs will be forsaken, as we are greedy,
corrupt and disregard our mother’s heart,
leaving this paradise in disarray,
bleeding from our hateful contentions
and self-importance, that will, if not rectified,
lead us all to the end.
