Have I Worn it Well, This Life?

Have I Worn it Well, This Life?
Have I Worn it Well, This Life?

What heights have I reached,
what depths have I breached,
to experience all that is,
that guides a soul’s mystique,
to fathomable realms,
and have I worn it well,
the tragedies and miseries
that tainted the swell
of a heart in growth,
maybe lost from truth, or
stoic I, when faced
with harsh realities,
the disdain of the unwanted,
superficiality I must appease
to afford a balance.

Success is just an empty shell,
filled with ego, a bell’s toll
for pride and arrogance, when truly
we are the sum of all of it,
and in balance we can strive,
yet celebrate one small facet of our lives,
the praise we need not,
for being who we are,
our undulations of high and low
but an extreme of where we are
in this learning plane of existence,
and success a reflection of highs,
just as failure and loss the reflection of lows,
all of which shows our journey,
not an indication of finite truth.

Struggle is the measure of what we need,
the results of what we learn
to help us ascend in conscious thought,
and we in balance, undulate less,
perspective gained and life’s quest
more mellow in its path,
for we can see why, forgive our mistakes
and understand the mechanics
of movement and outcome,
as we no longer blame,
accept responsibility and move forward,
knowing our purpose,
our spiritual ascension
and the learning of a soul
that aspires to life’s fulfillment.

From what I have read of your wandering mind, genius very often, tired less in it’s searching for truths. Yes my friend I feel very strongly that you sir have worn this life very well. May your soul never stop searching for truths, your rewards are awaiting you on your next journey through time. Peace my friend.
