The Writer Rising…truth embodied in ink

Embodied…

The mind strives and the pen guides,
as words in a vast universe find place,
between self-loathing and ego’s flight,
between love and hatred’s dark spite,
but what reveals itself,
what emanates from a page
is the measure of souls.

What we are in words becomes evident,
cannot be dismissed as myth,
for between words the blood of intent,
the truth woven into reality’s complex weave,
for souls to perceive and understand,
what drives a soul to be,
within this ragged world of limits.

Truth for a writer cannot be disguised,
even with that intention,
for words contain not just facts,
but nuances often the writer does not see,
and so when reading work a soul reaches out,
to be understood, to be held in nurture,
for acceptance to embrace those cold words of ink.

And so we writers bleed on paper,
with or without intention,
our essence plain for the discerning eye,
and subjects just embody the truth
in different ways,
always to rise to the surface,
and with doubts and anxiety aside,
to render the writer in black and white.

Exemplary – the best definition of a writer I have ever read. ” what emanates from a page
is the measure of souls.” Tis like a beautiful rose, opening one perfect petal at a time till the entire rose shows its truth. Beautiful perfection, Tony.
